Make your deck yours
Start with 44 base-game cards. Add 70 different expansion cards across five packs, then choose the Gnomes and Modifiers that fit your style. Your custom battle deck stays within the game’s 20-card limit, including Modifiers.
Unlimited rematches. More ways to make it yours.
In a normal match, cards return to their owners. Deal another base-game match. Or choose a new custom army from your collection and challenge someone else. You can replay as often as you like; expansions give you more choices.
Two players at a time, ages 14+. Settle a friendly rivalry in 15–20 minutes, then switch opponents or ask for a rematch.
Pick the Gnomes and Modifiers that suit your style. Both players agree on equal card counts; each army has at most 20 playing cards.
Family, Holiday, and Thanksgiving packs add 70 different cards. Collect your favorites and change your lineup for the next showdown.
Before the first rumble
You receive 44 playing cards: 28 Gnomes and 16 Modifiers. The card deck box also contains two illustrated, double-sided folded guides: Standard Play and Custom Battles.
For basic play, separate Gnomes from Modifiers. Shuffle the Gnomes, set four aside without looking, and deal 12 to each player. Shuffle the Modifiers and deal eight each. Keep all 20 of your own cards in hand, hidden from your opponent. You may look at your own cards.
Each player chooses one Gnome face down, then both reveal together. Each secretly chooses at most one Modifier or passes. Reveal the Modifiers together, follow their effects, and compare final battle power. The winner captures both Gnomes. A tie returns each Gnome to its owner; used Modifiers are discarded even on a tie.
End when a player can no longer field a Gnome. Add the original printed scores of your captured Gnomes. Negative numbers subtract points; used Modifiers add no capture points. The higher point total wins. The included guides explain tiebreakers and named special cards.
Family adds 14 Gnomes and no Modifiers. Each Holiday or Thanksgiving pack adds seven Gnomes and seven Modifiers. Holiday A and B have different cards; together they contain all 28 holiday cards. The Thanksgiving pair works the same way. Every pack has a fixed list, so another copy of the same pack contains the same cards.
A custom battle deck has at most 20 playing cards per player, including Modifiers. Both players agree on equal Gnome counts and equal Modifier counts, then choose from their collections. Owning more cards gives you more choices, while the deck limit stays the same. If you mix different card backs, use matching opaque sleeves so the backs do not identify cards before play.
Normally, captured Gnomes score points for that match and all cards return to their owners afterward. Optional card prizes apply only when both players agree before the match. The Custom Battles guide explains those options.
The base game comes in its card deck box. Each expansion comes in its own foil pack with an illustrated folded guide. The Complete Garden selection includes six separately packaged products. The Game Crafter prints to order. You review shipping charges, taxes, and the production estimate before paying.
